People in Sioux Falls had little to shovel, but that's not the case in southwest Minnesota, where the dig out is still underway. While Sioux Falls received a sprinkle of snow, officially, two and a half inches at the airport, the plows in Worthington, Minnesota, are pushing up icy piles of heavy, wet snow. "I believe we got around nine or ten inches. Plowing conditions are pretty good, but it's icy underneath," Doug Nau said. Nau is about half way done digging out the 20 businesses he'll visit Friday and the ice is slowing him down. "You do quite a bit of spinning. I need more weight, but that's the way it goes," Nau said. He's not the only one fighting the ice. "When it's wet like this, you don't get very good traction on the skid loaders and it takes a little longer to do a route," Calvin Berger said. Berger has miles of sidewalks to clear before he sleeps. "I started about 5:30 this morning. I have 64 houses. It's kind of crazy, but it makes for good money. It's a lot of hard work, but I'll probably be done by seven o'clock tonight," Berger said. You could see signs of the ice everywhere from cars spinning out to city blades straining to move the heavy mess. A lot of people got plowed in on side streets and then struggled to get out.
